Inhalt | This course offers a dynamic exploration of how memory politics and media shape our understanding of history in Ukraine since its independence in 1991. It blends historical analysis, media studies, and cultural reflection, providing a comprehensive view of the evolving educational and political landscape. We will examine the role of education, print, news, digital media, monuments, places of memory, and cinema in crafting historical narratives and national identity through an interdisciplinary approach. Key learning objectives include understanding the impact of memory politics on history, analyzing the media's role in portraying historical events, and investigating the influence of educational policies. The course will engage students in lively discussions, comparative global case studies, and current debates in Ukrainian history education. Students will interact with guest speakers and experts, developing critical research and analytical skills through in-depth media analysis. Join us as we uncover the dynamic interplay between memory, media, and education in shaping history. 2-3 LP |
